What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a report from November 2022, a review against the criteria for registration as a private school.

ERO found the school was meeting every criterion, including suitable premises, staffing, equipment, curriculum and tuition standards, fit and proper managers, and being a physically and emotionally safe place for students, with its safety policies and procedures reviewed regularly.

ERO also noted the school had signed up to the code of practice for the pastoral care of international students, though none were enrolled at the time.

Enrolling

As a private school with no home zone, Pukekohe Christian School takes applications from any family. The school describes a four-step process: an enquiry (which can include a visit and a meeting with the principal), a written application, an interview where the child comes to the school, and a decision by the Board.

Families applying for a Christian enrolment also complete a spiritual referee form, and all new applicants agree to the school’s accounts terms and conditions. When a year level is full, families can join a waiting list, and siblings of current students are given priority.
