What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a Te Ara Huarau School Profile Report from May 2023. ERO noted the school’s ongoing commitment to weaving te reo and te ao Māori into daily learning.

ERO and the school agreed to work on lifting progress and achievement in literacy and on fairer outcomes for groups of students. ERO pointed to an inclusive culture where students feel they belong, collaborative leadership that keeps practice consistent, and a strong habit of professional learning among teachers.

Looking ahead, the school’s priorities are targeted programmes to raise progress and achievement in reading and writing so results are more equitable, and helping students understand and own their learning pathways. Building shared evaluation skills to guide the school’s direction remains an ongoing focus, and ERO’s next public report will be a School Evaluation Report.
