What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a Te Ara Huarau School Profile Report from July 2023. It sets out the evaluation the school and ERO agreed to work on together: how well the school’s internal evaluation systems lift student outcomes, with the aim of a more formal and consistent review cycle.

ERO noted strong relationships with the community and whānau, partnerships with community agencies that support student progress, and the ’Mauku Way’ values being part of everyday school life.

Next, the school plans to rework its internal evaluation systems into a framework of its own built on the Mauku Way, then use that framework to review parts of its strategic plan. ERO’s next public report on the school will be a School Evaluation Report.

Enrolling

Students who live in the school’s home zone have the right to enrol. Out-of-zone places are offered under the school’s enrolment scheme, by ballot when there are more applicants than places. The school’s zone page asks families to contact the school office for zone details.

International students apply through the school. Once the application and enrolment contract are complete, the school issues an offer of place, and fees and a student visa follow. The international page sets out the process, insurance requirements and support for students.
