What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from September 2026. ERO judged the school to be doing well in almost every area it reviewed and excelling in its support for students with additional needs.

Achievement has risen since the previous review: most learners meet or exceed year-level expectations in mathematics and a large majority do so in reading, with boys making big gains in reading. A large majority of learners attend regularly, and ERO found teaching effective and consistent across the school.

Writing is the one area ERO rated as working towards. Only a small majority of learners meet or exceed expectations in writing, and girls achieve at higher levels than boys, so results there are not yet equitable.

The next steps are to keep lifting literacy and mathematics with a deliberate focus on boys’ writing, to set up a regular cycle of internal evaluation, and to keep raising regular attendance.
